Healthy Pantry Essentials

 photo image_zps5143fb99.jpg
Hey loves! I know i haven't been posting a lot lately mainly because this week has been chaotic for Dirk and i and as you all know when things are chaotic there's just not much fun going on but i will be posting exciting things next week and the following weeks to come so stay tuned for that. We are gonna be out of town next week for Dirk's work and then we're gonna be heading to the beach for the weekend so i'm super excited for that. I can't wait to get tanned because i really need some color in me! My skin has been so pale, it's ridiculous. But before everything else i thought i might share some of my healthy pantry essentials. As you all know i have been living a healthier lifestyle and i'm proud to say that i've never felt healthier and happier in my life. Being healthy doesn't mean you have to starve yourself, it's all about how you take care of yourself. What you eat and how you see life. I've just been eating a lot healthier for the past couple of months and let me tell you, it has been an incredible journey and i plan to do this for the rest of my life. Although i eat a lot healthier i also have days when i get to indulge, but i only have cheat treats strictly on weekends where i can eat a burger or have my favorite cheesecake and that's just it. So before i start rambling let's get on with the purpose of this post. Here are some of my pantry essentials:

1. Organic coconut sugar
- this has been my choice of sweetener ever since i started to eat healthier. I usually get mine at our local Pasalubong center here in Davao city but i' m pretty sure you can get this anywhere.

2. Rolled oats
- i am not a breakfast person. i can't eat rice in the morning because my stomach just can't handle it and don't get me started with Dairy products because it'll not sound good but i've been enjoying oats lately especially rolled oats and i'm gonna be posting a healthy breakfast recipe soon :) you can buy rolled oats at any Robinson's or Rustan's fresh groceries.

3. Coconut water
- coconut water is everything! i am so lucky i live in a tropical country where coconuts are everywhere. I try to avoid the packed ones you usually get at the groceries but if you don't have coconuts at your town then just head to the grocery.  I usually drink them and eat the coconut meat. sometimes i add coconut water to my smoothies.

4. Organic virgin coconut oil
- i use coconut oil for a lot of things, i use is at a moisturizer, a makeup remover, an eye cream ,  i use it for my salads, for cooking, to treat sunburn or chapped lips. It's everything! And it'll save you a lot of money, plus it's 100% natural. Make sure to buy the unrefined one.

5. Almond milk
- i mainly use this as a creamer for my coffee, sometimes i add it on my hot tea, smoothies, oats, or as an ingredient for my vegan pancakes. I usually buy the almond breeze brand and i really like the vanilla and the chocolate flavor. This is lactose free and soy free. I get mine at Healthy Options.

6. Cinnamon powder
- i can't believe i'm actually including this since i grew up hating the taste and smell of cinnamon. I used to really hate anything that has cinnamon in it, but it all changed last year. I don't know how it happened but i am so thankful! I use this for my breakfast oatmeals and sometimes i add some to my smoothies and i love the fact that it taste and smells like christmas :)

7. Organic honey
one of my favourite sweeteners. I like to drizzle a little bit to my breakfast oats (or maybe a lot!) and i use this as a key ingredient for my face mask.

And that's pretty much it! I hope i gave you guys some ideas if you are planning to build your healthy pantry because i'm still in the process of building mine and i'd love to post more about this in the future :)
