Office desk wish list

So i've been pinning like a crazy woman lately because i'm this close to finally getting a desk. I know it took me a while but a sistah has to save because it's not easy to just spend when you're living on your own and not relying on parents to fix everything for you. Let me just say that i'm so proud of myself for making it this far and still alive! Ha! So before i make this post long let's go back to the topic of building my office desk and all the other stuff that goes with it. I made this list just to make the whole process a lot easier and to kind of show you how i want my desk to look like and the specific look that i am going for and just a couple of things that i really wanted.

1. White desk (ala IKEA)
2. White office chair
3. Gold desk lamp
4. Kate Spade 2015 Agenda
5. Anthropologie mugs (for my coffee & tea)
6. Clear vase for my flowers
7. Bath & body works candle in frosted cupcake
8. Owl decor

Haircare essentials (life-changing!)

It's been a while since i last took care of my hair. I remember when i was a teenager i'd always get treatments and all that good stuff just so i'd have a healthy hair. Everything changed when i started to have it lightened. I naturally have jet-black locks so imagine all the countless attempts to make my hair lighter. All my asian sistahs know exactly what i'm talking about. So my hair went from silky smooth to dull, dry and limp. Just recently i got a hair cut just to get rid of my dry ends and oh my god! It was a life-changing experience. My hair felt alive again and i started trying out all these hair products to maintain my healthy hair. Here are some of them. It's not much because i'm still in the process of trying out some haircare oils which i'm gonna be doing a review post soon.

•Daily defense Argan oil moisturizing conditioner
Definitely one of my favorites! Make sure to apply conditioner only to your tips to avoid dandruff.

•Nanny Rose Gugo & lawat shampoo
Read my previous review

•White Rain volumizing hair mousse
It does help in achieving volume to my fine hair and it smells really good.

Everything mentioned can be bought at any Watsons branch.

In-a-hurry Products

It's just one of those days when you have minimal time to get ready and you're struggling to look presentable. Rushing doesn't always mean wearing a pony tail and hiding under big sunglasses. You can also look presentable with just the right amount of products needed. This isn't my normal routine but if i'm in a hurry these products would be my go-to.

White rain volumizing weightless mousse
I started using this last month when i had my hair cut. I use this to add volume since my hair tends to get flat.

•L'oreal Lucent Magique light-infusing foundation
I don't apply this all over my face. I just use this as my concealer and dab it on my under eye circles.

•Maybelline Megaplush Volume express mascara
This is probably my all-time favorite mascara. It doesn't clump, it adds volume and it's waterproof.

•Etude house eyebrow pencil (it comes with a spooly brush)
I seriously cannot live without this product!

Smith's Rosebud salve in Brambleberry rose
It smells really good and it prevents my lips from being dry and chapped all day. I always have to have this in my makeup bag.

Uses and benefits of Coconut oil

Ever since i've been exposed to healthy eating and all the holistic stuff a year ago i came across an article regarding coconut oil. I remember my Dad used to buy bottles of virgin coconut oils and he would use them for his hair. I wasn't really sure what he was doing at that time because i didn't really care much about using alternatives. But as you age you learn more about things. I am 24 now and i am a self-confessed granny at heart. I fell in love with coconut oil the moment i started using it as a moisturizer and an eye cream. I know that sounds weird but trust me its surprising benefits will blow your mind.

Here are some of its uses:

•Cooking
•Moisturizer
•Eye cream
•Makeup remover
•Stretch mark inhibitor
•Conditioner
•Shaving cream
•Diaper cream for babies
•Pulling oil (for the mouth)
•Increase milk supply (take 3-4 table spoons a day)

On days when i just want to relax my face from all the products i've been using, i just cleanse my face with a virgin coconut oil. It's safe to use. It's anti-bacterial and it doesn't have harsh chemicals.

Go grab yourselves a bottle now!

Achieve almost-perfect brows without shelling a lot of cash with these Drugstore favorites. I personally use these since day one and they've been with me in every trial & error. I truly believe that you don't have to own the most high-end eyebrow product in order to achieve the perfect brows. It really depends on how you use it. Although i want to try the Anastasia tinted brow gel *teehee!

•Etude house drawing eyebrow pencil (it also comes with a spooly brush)

•Elf brow kit (i sometimes use the powder part for contouring)

How to add volume to fine flat hair

I wanna start by saying that i've always had fine hair and that was a problem for me since i had no volume whatsoever. My hair looked flat and pretty much boring. Whenever i'd try to style it, it just doesn't cooperate. It was so frustrating that i even considered having major hair treatments that would give me that blow dried effect. I'm so glad i did my research beforehand because it completely helped me save money from getting those damaging hair treatments.

Now first thing's first, the most important factor on how to achieve volume to your fine hair is the right products and the right methods used. I did my research (thank you mother google!)

•Conditioner first! Trust me. Applying your conditiner beforehand adds volume to your hair. I've been doing this method for about 2 months now and it made a huge difference.

•Avoid cream based shampoos since it'll weigh your hair down, thus making it more flat.

•Brush your hair before taking a shower to avoid tangles and hair-fall.

•When applying shampoo make sure to apply it on the back of your nape first before working your way on top of your head. You can skip applying it on your ends since it'll only dry them out.

•Make sure to air dry your hair and avoid brushing it while it's still wet to avoid hair-fall.

•Add some layers to your hair but not too much since too much layering will flatten your hair more. Talk to your hair stylist about the best cuts for your hair.

•Apply argan oil or sunflower oil to your hair before bedtime.

•Tie your hair up in a loose pony tail before going to bed to avoid it getting flat while sleeping.

•Use a teasing comb and a volumizing hair mousse.

These are just some of the tips i gathered from researching and also from my personal experience. I hope it'll help my fellow flat haired sistahs out there.

For long flat haired girls, my advice is to have your hair cut and layered. Kind of like a long bob to add more volume since stick straight hairs won't work.

REVIEW: Nanny Rose Gugo & Lawat Anti-hairfall Shampoo

Hair story:

I have been growing my hair long for about 4 years now and last month i finally mustered the courage to have them chopped. I didn't want to but there was just no point in keeping them long because my hair was so damaged and unmanageable. I wasn't sure if short hair would suit me since the last time i've had them short was when i was 19 and super skinny. I was nervous but i knew i just had to do it in order to save my damaged hair. So after a few minutes i finally got a full glimpse of my new hair and i loved it! My hair felt so light and healthy again and props to my hair stylist from Hair studio SM city Davao for doing a really good job. I know i only asked for a trim but he chopped almost half of my hair, i almost panicked but i'm so satisfied with everything. He also taught me a few tricks on how to add volume to my fine hair since that was one of the main factors on why i was so hesitant to have them cut in the first place. I also did some research since i was so desperate to revive my healthy hair. I'll talk about it in another post.

So a week after my haircut, i was enjoying a new method on washing my hair and all that good stuff until i noticed a few hair strands falling here and there. I didn't really paid much attention to it at first but then it got worse so i researched for a shampoo that would prevent hair-fall and i stumbled upon a few reviews on The Nanny Rose Gugo & Lawat Anti-hairfall shampoo. I was convinced so i ran out to the nearest mall and got myself a bottle. I was surprised since there was just one bottle left so this must really work. It made me more convinced.

Review:

I've read some reviews where in they have an issue with the bottle but i honestly don't mind in terms of how the botttle looks i actually like that it looks different and clean. But i really had a hard time opening the product. I seriously cut myself from struggling to open it so i think they should fix that. But i love the fact that it's organic and paraben free. I also love the scent. It has a lemongrass & grapefruit scent and it lingers all throughout the day which is a huge plus for me. So after a week of using the product i noticed my hair-fall decreasing.

What i don't like about it is the fact that it makes my hair really dry so i have to pack on my argan oil conditioner. And another thing is it gave me dandruff so what i do is i try to alternate it with my Head & shoulders shampoo. But other than that i love it mainly because of the scent and how it lessened my hair-fall and i'd definitely repurchase it again.

Workspace inspiration

I have been planning on setting up my workspace in our room for the longest time now and i forgot about it for a while because we were busy with a lot of things and there were a lot of bills to be paid at that time but since things are a bit better now we've decided to start planning on my workspace again since i badly need one with my work and all the DIY's i had to do and it also helps because it makes our room appear more tidier and less cluttered. And as you can tell i'm going for the all-white theme so i'll probably buy a brown ready-made desk from the furniture store where we bought our cabinet and our dining set last year since it's a lot cheaper there and all i have to do is paint it white. I went a bit crazy on pinterest and i've been pinning and browsing for more desk inspirations and here are my top 3 so far. What do you guys think? :)

Bedroom inspirations

So it's been almost a year since i moved to a bigger apartment and i must admit i still got a lot of things lacking in my place. I still have to fix the bedroom, i still need to buy a couple of more things for the kitchen and a whole bunch of different things for the bathroom. I've been running to Pinterest for help and it's so much easier for me to figure out the colors i liked and how i like to place everything. But i do have an idea of how everything would turn out. My priority as of the moment is the master's bedroom and i'm so lucky the walls were painted white prior to moving since that's how i wanted my walls to look like so it's such a relief. Now all i have to do is figure things out and start shopping for furniture and home decors. But in the meantime here are some of my favorite bedroom ideas:

What do you guys think?

Wish list: cross body bags

As far as i can remember i've been a big fan of over-sized bags since day one because i think it was necessary for school and i kind of got used to it in the long run so i tend to splurge a lot on bags before. I've always hated small bags just because i couldn't fit any of my  "unnecessary" things. But as you age you realize that less is more. And by that, you only need 4 things in your crossbody bag: cellphone, cash, ID's and any lip products.

With that being said, here are my top picks:

• Marc by Marc Jabobs petal to the metal flap pouchette
Rebecca Minkoff Rm mac minimac cross body bag

Be inspired: week 1

For this week's inspiration board i went a little bit dramatic since it was a pretty rough week for me due to PMS or maybe because i was just overwhelmed with the fact that i am turning 24!

•Furry animal

I've always been a Dog person and ever since i've been living alone i miss the feeling of having a Dog around to play and cuddle with.

•Clothes & etc

This has something to do with revamping my wardrobe and going back to selling.

•Facing the reality

Being brave means that you have to accept every challenge that's coming your way. It's not that you don't have a choice, we always have a choice but if we choose to face every challenge then that is courage.

•Tea tea tea

Cutting out caffeine from now on!

•Project white

Planning on a big DIY project real soon!
