Turning Twenty Five

So last week i turned twenty five and i'm still on cloud nine as we speak. This year's birthday has been by far my happiest. I know i always say that every single year but it just goes to show how people can be happy on their birthdays, not because of the material things but it's more on the chance to celebrate another year.

I'm so happy and thankful for everything that has happened in the past few months and i'm looking forward for the following months to come. This year i vow to not be afraid to take chances and just live my life the way i want as long as i'm doing not doing anything wrong.

This year i'm going to say yes to more opportunities and live life to the fullest.

P.S. I Vlogged during my birthday so better check out the video on my Youtube channel and hit subscribe! x

Get Ready With Me: Simple Everyday makeup

Surprise! So i finally convinced myself to film a get ready with me video. It was quite a dramatic process i must say. One, i almost dropped my camera from using shoe boxes as my tripod and i made a huge mess on the floor. The struggle is indeed real. I wonder how youtubers make it look so easy. Anyway i've always wanted to upload a get ready with me video ever since i started watching tutorials but i've always been so embarrassed about how i'd look like but i decided to just hit the upload button anyway and pray that no one will watch (Bahahaha!) kidding aside, i hope to be able to upload more beauty videos because that's something i want to focus on and maybe a little bit of fashion and cooking videos as well so we'll see how this goes but for now i'm just going to do what i can and we'll see where i can go from there.

Vlog: Flower Market & Sundate

So i finally uploaded my very first vlog. I wasn't planning on uploading one as i've gone through a bunch of ready made vlogs and deleted them because i was too embarrassed but what the heck, i've always wanted to give this vlogging thing a shot mainly because i've just been so intrigued with the idea of documenting snippets of your life and uploading them online. It doesn't exactly sound like a good idea but yeah, i'm gonna be vlogging bits and bobs of my everyday life every week and maybe do some other videos as well. I don't know, we'll see how this goes but for now enjoy my very first vlog! x

Fashion Focus: Closet Wish List

Don't you just love creating a wish list? It's always fun creating a list of the things you covet but at the same time heartbreaking browsing through my favourite fashion sites but since it's my birthday month, i guess that's a valid excuse but still so sad because we don't actually have any Topshop or H&M stores here in my city (sob). Anyway, back to the main agenda. I find my style evolving every year. gone are the days when i would don more colours and wear havaianas almost every day (i know. i know -.-) looking back now i could cringe at the thought of me wearing havainas in college and even to parties, not because i thought it was cool, but because i just want to feel comfortable. comfortable to the point of not dressing appropriately. Oh God, i could go on but i don't even wanna remember all those horrendous colourful shirts i used to wear. Not that i was so terrible but i just couldn't picture myself wearing the outfits that i wore two years ago. I'm just so relieved that i've mellowed down and focused on wearing neutrals & monochromes. But i still love a bit of colour especially on my nails and some of my bags (but nothing too extreme).

1. Embroidered Victoria Dress from Topshop
I can never have too many white dresses. What can i say, i'm obsessed. Particularly with this number from Topshop. It's not something i'd normally go for but when i saw one of my favourite UK bloggers wearing it i immediately got obsessed with it.

2. Embroidered Dress from H&M
And of course, you got to have a perfect sleeveless white dress at all times. Especially with the ridiculously humid weather here, a white dress is always a staple.

One has to at least have that one perfect denim jacket.

4. Jersey Dress from H&M
Another closet staple is the Jersey Dress. I love how you can dress it up or down depending on the occasion and your mood of course. Aside from it being very versatile and comfortable it is also very clean and minimalist. On daytime you can pair it with a white converse, a strappy gladiator sandals or birkenstocks and at night you can slip on those classic black heels.

5. Lace Up Side Flippy Dress from Topshop
One has to always have a an LBD (little black dress). Enough said.

I've been searching for a perfect fringe bag that has a really nice shape. I'm very picky when it comes to bags. I don't care if it's branded or thrifted as long as it has a really nice shape and it has to either be medium or large sized so i can fit my camera and laptop and all the other important things that i need to have in my bag.

7. Strawberry Straw Bag from Topshop
When i first saw this at the Topshop website fell in love with it on a whim. It's definitely a statement bag and i love that you can pair it with your white or black outfits for a hint of colour.

and there you have it guys, my closet wish list for this month! x

Booklist (July)

Here's a recap of my main booklist (kind of like a Wishlist) for the month of July. I hope to at least get myself two out of the four since it's quite a challenge to find these types of books in our local book store so i'm crossing my fingers. I'll be posting a review on one of the books and i'd d love to do a review on The Girl On The Train once i finish reading it.

1.) Eat Pretty. Nutrition for Beauty, Inside & Out
-Anything that involves beauty, health, inspirational messages, recipes and stunning illustrations, i'm sold! This book has everything that you need to know about being beautiful not just on in outside but also on the inside.

2.) How to Be Parisian Wherever You Are
-Another must read. I've read really good reviews about this book and it has been circulating in the web for quite some time now. I've read one review stating that this book should be given to every girl when she turns 20. If that doesn't get you intrigued then i don't know what.

3.) The Kitchy Kitchen
-I've been meaning to get a copy of this cook book ever since it first came out, for one, I'm a foodie and yes, i don't just love to eat i cook as well. Second, I am a huge fan of Claire, I love her show Food For Thought, i'm subscribed to her youtube channel, i always stalk her blog and Instagram page.  Okay, i may have sounded like a crazy fangirl but i just love Claire and her recipes. I love how she balances healthy ingredients with a bit of cheat treats here and there and i love the fact that she's a self taught chef. That gives me a tiny bit of hope, ha!

4.) The Girl On The Train
By Paula Hawkins
-Out of all the four, this has got to be the main book that i've been meaning to get a hold on. I've read mixed reviews about this book but i'm much too drawn to the story and the fact that it's a psychological thriller just like the book Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn that i can't stay away from it even if books like this can leave me disturbed and anxious. I can't help it.

Fashion Focus: Whiteout

When all else fails, you don't always have to don a black outfit. Let your LBD's get their much needed rest and opt for that white shirt that you've been ignoring in your closet, or that white lace dress that you've been saving for something special. It doesn't always have to be all about the whole black outfit   but that doesn't necessarily mean you need go all-out with colors on daily basis. Experiment but never overdo it. If you want to look clean and presentable but at the same time very feminine, better start wearing those white outfits.
